"Life is amazing. And then it’s awful. And then it’s amazing again. And in between the amazing and awful it’s ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That’s just living heart-breaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it’s breathtakingly beautiful."

I think this quote really captures what my mind has been processing recently. Because, man, we have some GOOD days.
- When we have a really successful day working with kids & they are interactive & answering questions & singing along.
- A trip to the beach - seeing more of the country of Honduras & getting out of the little town of Urraco for a day & soaking up the sun & trying new foods.
- Bonding as a team with line dancing or watching Hamilton or singing karaoke or cooking a meal with veggies (a rarity in our carb-heavy diet) or having a deep conversation.
But, also, there are some HARD days. Days where all I want is to go home.
- Feeling stuck in this tiny town where we do everything within one square mile.
- Never ever EVER feeling clean (including not having clean clothes) & being covered in bug bites & eating the same meals over & over again.
- The rainy days where ministry gets cancelled & we don’t have anything to do but sit around.
- Missing my people from home and wishing I had more time to talk to them.
There is the everyday routine : mundane & ordinary & repetitive.
- Walking to & from the church where we do ministry.
- A morning pot of coffee & workout on on the back porch.
- The nightly team meetings where we hash out the day.
- Church every other night & the meals afterward.
I really think this quote just embodies a cool perspective & mindset to have. Not just in this lifestyle that I am living, but for everyone, wherever you are. We all have our great days & our hard days & our normal mundane days. And God is going to use every kind of day & every experience to grow us & teach us. There is so much comfort in that.
Soak it up. Hold on. Relax.
